End of Day – End of the Ninth Series

The Ninth Series is in the books at 7:30 pm. The Judges will give their callbacks and we will give to you just as soon as we receive them. The Tenth Series will be at this same property: Bear Ranch owned by Cindy and Breck Howard.

The contestants that are back to the Tenth Series will be asked to assemble in the designated spot near the Gunners tent at 7:45 am for the Caravan/Parade at 8:00 am. The gallery and workers will then "Welcome" them to the site of the Tenth Series and the Closing Ceremony.

The National Anthem will be played at 8:30 am after which the Test Dogs will run.

105. FC-AFC TUCKED AWAY AT RIVER'S EDGE, "Tucker" LM, Alex Abraham

Tucker and handler Alex came to the line at 7:21 pm

S. Flyer - Good Bird.

Flyer - Out to the area and quickly found his bird.

Middle Long - Backing up the hill with his flyer, he is ready to go out for another

Middle Retired - Out to the area and back with his bird.

94. FC-AFC LANE'S THRILLA N MANILLA, "Frazier" LM, Michael Robicheaux

Frazier and handler Michael came to the line at 7:01 pm

S. Flyer - Direct line

Flyer -  Out in front the gunners, turned right, 2 loops and got his bird

Middle Long - On line to the blind, came in left of the blind, made a tight circle around it and straight to the bird.

Middle Retired - Out right of the bird, got deep, but worked his way to the bird.

88. FC-AFC HUNTING CREEK CLASSY GIRL JH, "Classy" LF, Johnny Armstrong

Classy and handler Johnny came to the line at 7:01 pm

S. Flyer - Back with her bird and waggin’ her tail for more!

Flyer - Long flyer, but she made quick work of it!

Middle Long - Entering the field wide left, she comes along the fence and curled right around the pond and to the bird.

Middle Retired - Entered the area right of the pond, hunted along the fence towards the flyer, then back the other way to get her bird.

Handle 87. AFC TRULINES BIG BAD JACK, "Jack" LM, Wayne Carey

Jack and handler Wayne came to the line at 6:50 pm

S. Flyer - Got it so quick he almost walked on the water!

Flyer - Straight to the bird!

Middle Retired - Excellent line, then cut around the pond still looking, moving towards the the Middle Retired, so he was handled to the Middle Retired bird.

Middle Long - Went back out and got his bird.

72. FC-AFC NINA MCFIZZ, "Nina" LF, Judy Rasmuson

Nina and handler Judy came to the line at 6:32 pm

S. Flyer - Very Good!

Flyer - Quick recovery of her flyer!

Middle Long - Splash through the pond and back with her bird!

Middle Retired - Arrived at the blind, hunted the area wide and right, came back with her bird!

71. GIDDY UP GO II, "Giddy" LF, Randy Whittaker

Giddy and handler Randy came to the line 6:20 pm

S. Flyer - Direct Line!

Flyer - Straight out by the guns, then had an area hunt to come up with her bird.

Middle Long -  Out to the right side of the pond and out of sight, until she reappeared with a bird!

Middle Retired - She headed in the wrong direction, we lost sight of her and yet she came back with the bird!!

Handle 68. FC-AFC 3R'S MR T SMOKEN JOE, "Smokie" LM, James Hurst

Smokie with handler James came to the line at 6:04 pm

S. Flyer - Good Bird

Flyer - Came into the area then left of the blind for a couple loops and back to the right and the bird

Middle Retired - Through the pond with a splash, a tight hunt and back with the bird.

Middle Long - Through the water way left of the mark, went deep and had to be handled to the bird.

67. BEAVER RUNS COOLHAND LUKE, "Luke" LM, Bert Windham

Luke and handler Bert came to the line at 5:54 pm

S. Flyer - So Excited! Flew to the pond and his bird!

Flyer - Came in left of the bird in front of the guns. Turned right and worked his way out to the bird.

Middle Long - Nice line, then veered way right, but came back to the blind and hunted up his bird.

Middle Retired - Out to the fall area and got it!

62. NAFC-FC MULLIGAN OFF THE RAINY "T", "Mully" LM, Randy Spangler

Mully and handler came to the line at 5:44 pm

S. Flyer - Got his bird!

Flyer - Very Nice Mark!

Middle Long - Good line. Got to the water and turned right, over the mound on the right and back behind the pond to find his bird.

Middle Retired - Good Mark!

57. FC-AFC COOLWATER'S HOOKED ON SPRINGTIME, "Maya" LF, Alex Washburn

Maya and handler came to the line at 5:35 pm

S. Flyer - Ran to the pond and launched to the bird!

Flyer - To the area in front of the guns, then turned right and hunted - got it!

Middle Long - Out to the left of the blind, came around and nailed it!

Middle Retired - Took an excellent line towards the fall area and then a hunt until she got it!

54. NAFC-FC TEXAS TROUBADOR, "Tubb" LM, John Russell, Jr.

Tubb and handler John came to the line at 5:23 pm

S. Flyer - Very Good

Flyer - Good

Middle Long - Going in wide left of the area, gets to the blind and turns right and to the bird.

Middle Retired - Went into area wide left. Over dirt mound and near the fenced end of the pasture. He comes back into the area for his bird.

Handle - 36. FC-AFC BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND, "Petey" LM, Anne Marshall

Petey and handler Anne came to the line at 5:13 pm.


S. Flyer - Great start, nice line to the bird.

Flyer - Came in close to the guns, Petey had to hunt his way out to the bird.

Middle Long - Wide Wide left towards airing yard. He cut right to the blind and out to his bird.

Middle Retired - Headed straight to the bird and veered off and had to handled to the bird.

Handle - 34. FC-AFC LOCK FIVE'S GOT HER BLUE GENES ON, "Baby" LF, Bill Woodson

Baby and handler Bill came to the line at 5:01 pm

S. Flyer - Out of sight but she came back with the bird.

Flyer - Very mark

Middle Long - She hunt the blind then came back with the bird.

Middle Retired - Good initial line but ended right by the fence and handled

Gun Change - 9th Series

Our gun change happened after dog #31 Clooney finished his series at 4:01 pm.

We have 13 more dogs to run this series and then we will see who advances to our final 10th Series of the 2019 National Amateur Retriever Club Championship!!

Handle - 31. FC-AFC SEASIDE'S GORGEOUS GEORGE, "Clooney" LM, Michael Robicheaux

Clooney and handler Michael came to the line at 4:41 pm.

S. Flyer - Perfect mark with a high jump to get in the pond.

Middle Retired - Went deep through the flyer area then left towrds the blind. He hunted up the middle retired bird and brought it back.

Middle Long - He went through the pond on the left side to the fall area. A tight hunt and he got the bird.

Flyer - Clooney drove through the flyer area and with a quick handle brought him back and he got the bird.

25. FC-AFC-CAFC BAYPOINTS THOUSAND FATHOM EDGE, "Ouuks" LM, Jim McFarland

Ouuks with handler Jim came to the line at 4:33 pm

S. Flyer - Nice line; a big splash and he is back with the bird.

Flyer - Good line and a quick recovery of the bird.

Middle Long - A hunt to the left of the blind, then he looped over to the bird.

Middle Retired - Ouuks arrived to the left of the blind then a little right. He came back and to the left and got his bird.

20. FC-AFC KIRKWOOD'S ACE OF LONE STAR, "Lexie" LF, Casey Adams

Lexie and handler Casey came to the line at 4:24 pm

S. Flyer - Straight into the pond for her bird.

Flyer - Good line out, a tight hunt and she's got it.

Middle Long - Great line! Lexie is going a little right into the pond but she is out to the fall area (our of view for a bit) and comes back with the bird.

Middle Retired - Nice line just towards the left of the blind (out of sight for a bit) and she is back with the bird.

126. AFC BRISTOL'S NORTH SLOPE PTARMIGAN, "Ptar" LM, Doreen Comrie-Bristol

Ptar and handler Doreen came to the line at 4:11 pm

S. Flyer - Keen to get to the bird and he is back in no time.

Flyer - His line is wide right, with a big loop and out of our view to the fence and back with the bird.

Middle Long - Ptar is out to the bird with a line through the pond and he returns the same way.

Middle Retired - Good initial line, but he broke right and hunted the near flyer gunners but then he worked over for this bird.
