2nd Test Dog - 10th Series - LF - Kelly Lee

Third Creek's Little Sister "Kelly Lee" BLF

Handler: Lori Morgan

Kelly Lee came to the line at 9:03 am and completed this test at 9:16 am.

Right Flyer - Kelly Lee went through the water then angled the swale and was on her bird.

Left Flyer - Around the end of the pond and to the area of the fall, Kelly Lee had a moderate hunt in the area then she came back with the bird.

Island Bird - In the pond and over the point, she ran the land to the entry area and was handled to her bird.

Long Retired - Going right of the hay bales and in the water, she went over the land and was back in the water. Getting out of the last bit of water wide right, but Kelly Lee corrected herself and got to the area of the fall having a brief controlled hunt and she was on her bird.

1st Test Dog - 10th Series - LM - Boomer

Came to the line at 8:51 am and completed test at 9:02 am.

Right Flyer - Boomer went through the pond and at the swale he broke left at the end but quickly turned right and he was on his bird. 

Left Flyer - He went around the end of the pond and across the road to go up to his bird.

Island Bird - Getting left of the hay bales, Boomer entered the pond and catches the point and got over it to re-enter the water. Swimming through the water he got to the island and on his bird.

Long Retired - Just left of the hay bale, off the line, He got into the water, went over the point and re-entered the water. Driving long in the field, he adjusts himself and he is on the bird.

Test Dogs - 9th Series - Boomer & Kelley Lee

Kelley Lee at 2:17 pm

S. Flyer - Straight to the bird.

Flyer - Handled to the bird.

Middle Long Retired - Handled

Middle Retired - No view


Boomer at 2:29 pm

S. Flyer - Straight at it.

Middle Long Retired - He went to the left of the pond and into the kennel building yard - out of the fence - called in then handled back.

Flyer - Out to the area, hunted and quickly found it.

Middle Retired - Guns came out to help

Test took 13.5 minutes



Test Dog - Kelley Lee – 8th Series – Day 2

Lori Morgan and Kelley Lee came to the line at 6:43 am.

Duck Flyer - Kelley Lee went across the pond out to the duck and quickly retrieved it.

Rooster Retired - Getting down into the first pond, Kelley Lee went up straight to her bird.

Hen Pheasant Retired - Straight through the water, hitting the hill on an angle - NAILED IT.

Hen Pheasant Flyer - She angled down the land and into the pond. Exiting and climbing up the hill to the fall area and her bird.

Test Dog - Kelley Lee - 8th Series

2:46 pm - 2:59 pm (13 minutes)

Mallard Flyer - She angled through the pond and went up the hill to the area of the fall. A tight hunt and she had her bird.

Rooster Retired - She angled through the pond on the right side of the road and was on her bird.

Hen Pheasant Retired (Handle) - Angled through the same pond, using the same line and was handled to her retired.

Hen Pheasant Flyer - She past the pond below the line and angling through the next one she come out and drives the hill to the gunners. A hunt of the hillside yields her the bird.

Test Dog Boomer - 8th Series

2:30 pm - 2:44 pm (14 minutes)

Mallard Flyer - Entered the water and went through the decoys to have a small hunt along the shore then he picked up his bird.

Rooster Retired - He entered the water and drove the hillside to pick up his rooster.

Hen Pheasant Retired (handle) - he angled the pond and drove the hill. Cutting through another pond to the top of the hill he had a quick handle and was to his bird.

Hen Pheasant Flyer - He is past the first pond and angling across the next. He exits and climbs the hill towards the gunners to establish a controlled hunt for his bird.

7th Series - Test Dog - Boomer

The handlers were informed that they may move to the tall grass on the send of the dog.

Boomer went down the hill to the water in two whistles and got on more to get in the first bit of water. He got two more cast while in the first bit of water, then had another one to get out onto the first point. Getting a cast for his second re-entry, Boomer pulled right to get parallel to the point. A few more whistles to adjust and start the to the second point. He then got a whistles to get away from the right side point then another to get on the correct point.

Boomer got wide on the first point and required a few whistles to get back in. He worked his way on down getting all the important parts with multiple whistles. This test took him 9.5 minutes.

7th Series - Test Dog - Kelly Lee

At 6:45 am the handlers were called to view the line.

At 6:46 am, our female test dog was called to the line.

One cast to go down the hill, with multiple whistles to get in the first entry of the water. Getting a whistles for adjustment to the line because Kelly Lee was wide left on the first point and left in the second bit of water. A few more whistles came in the pond to get past point on the right so she can get on the correct point on the left side. Scalloped pant and a little loose, Kelly Lee got back in and went to the next point, swam her final water and got her bird.

She was done at 6:57 am, taking her 11 minutes to complete.

Test Dog - 6th Series - Kelly Lee

Kelly Lee got to the line at 7:30 am.

Pheasant Flyer (PF) - Nice line for a quick retrieve.

Short Retired (SR) - She went up the hill to where the guns stood then went behind the hill. Going right behind a second hill, she then came back across the valley to the gun, had a hard hunt to get her bird.

Duck Flyer (DF) - Into the valley towards the gunners, Kelly Lee went into the water. Then traveling up the hill to the top, she hunted the flat area up there. She got back down to the bottom and got her bird.

Long Retired (LR) - she was unable to finish this bird due to a state highway workers driving by on a ATV and parked behind this station.

Test Dog - 6th Series - Boomer

Boomer got to the line at 7:14 am.

Pheasant Flyer (PF) - Straight to the bird.

Short Retired (SR) - Boomer went down into the valley then circled back up the hill and out of sight. He got back to the bottom and hunted the hill side.

Duck Flyer (DF) - He went up the right side of the slope moving deep to the guns. Boomer got almost there and put on his brakes to establish a hunt and got his bird.

Long Retired (LR) - He got to the base of the hill that followed the valley. Went up behind the flyer guns to the top of the hill and hunted.

He finished his test at 7:26 am, taking him 12 minutes.

5th Series - Test Dogs

Kelly Lee came to the line at 12:55 and was done at 1:03 pm

She took three whistles to entry the first bit of water. She came back and was handled back to the land. It then took two whistles to adjust on the land and exit. Three more whistles along the shore line.


Boomer came to the line at 1:06 and was done at 1:11 pm

Boomer got three whistles to get in the water and two more to get him to move from the land to re-entry. He got a final two whistles along the shore.


*** Judges additional instructions was sluice guns will go off as the handler gets to the mat. handler must stay on the mat until the dog enters the second water at which point the handler my move up and on the mound just right of the line. ***

Test Dog - Series 4

Boomer came to the line at 6:45 am.

Flyer - He went out through the edge of the pond and through the heavy cover and straight to his bird.

Middle Retired - On a great line towards the left end of the cover, he got into the pond and through the field left of the hay bale and straight to the mound where he quickly got his bird.

Long Retired - A straight path towards the bird, Boomer went through the pond, across the field and into the small pond. He then got on the mound and went left to the bird.

Test Dog 2 - 4th Series - Kelly Lee

Kelly Lee came to the line at 6:51 am.

Flyer - She got around to the end of the pond and pulls out of the water to the right. Swings behind the cover and to her bird.

Middle Retired - Kelly Lee went through the pond and pulls right. She swings behind the cover, comes back up on the mount to short through the dense grass and grabs out her bird.

Long Retired - Getting through the pond, she arrives right of the hay bale. She loops left and back to the right. Coming around the pond, she is handled back across the pond. A big loop, back around the mound and with a little help, she digs through the heavy grass for her bird.

Kelly Lee completed her test at 7:03 am.



Test Dog 1 - 4th Series - Boomer

Boomer came to the line at 6:40 am

Flyer - boomer moved around the end of the pond and came back to get the bird.

Middle Retired - boomer went to the area of the fall, put his nose down and then moved left. A small hunt and back with the duck.

Long Retired - Boomer heads out through the pond, getting out beyond the hay bale and requires multiple handles to get to his bird.

He completed this test at 6:50 am.

To the line ...

Water – 2 whistles to get over the log, 3 whistles through the cover, 1 whistle he ran the bank a little long but 1 more whistle got him to the bird

Land – 4 whistles to cross the road, 3 to get through the cover past the bird box, 2 up the hill, 3 back around the blind.

**Note: both dogs were stopping and going both left and right as they reach the end. Marshal said handler can move side to side.

7 minutes Total

Water – Over the log, and 1 whistle to get through the cover, 6 whistles to get in the pond, 2 more whistles to get across. She had some issues in the water.

Land – 2 whistles to cross the road, 2 more through the cover, 2 more past the bales, 2 more up the hill and 3 more at the end. The blind planter came out. Dog was having trouble seeing the handler.

F (Flyer) – Very good mark. Gunners sit as soon as bird is recovered.

RR (Right Retired) – Hunting right of gunners, Kelly Lee works out the area and comes over to the bird.

F (Flyer) – Nice high flyer. Direct line to the area with a tight hunt to come up with the bird.

RR (Right Retired) – Straight out but worked a depression right of the mark. Worked out the bird with a few loops and back in with his bird.
